Welcome to my food blog!
My name is Carrie, and I love food. I love finding ideas for recipes, I love making food, and I love eating food. All of these combined are usually a recipe (pun sort-of intended) for disaster when it comes to a small waistline and a healthy body. Not here, though!
Being healthy is something I take pride in. A lot of times, people think that healthy food consists of lots of raw fruits and veggies (commonly referred to as “rabbit food”) and I love to show people that they don’t have to eat raw vegetables every meal to be healthy!
One of my favorite things to do is find recipes for dishes that are infamous for being high fat, high calorie, high everything, and making them the complete opposite. The only thing that stays the same is the delicious flavor!
“So, Carrie. What makes your health food blog different than any other health food blog?”
Thanks for asking! My blog not only caters to those who love food and strive to be healthy, it also caters to those who may have other people to feed. Let’s face it: kids like chicken nuggets. Husbands — and this wife ;) — like fattening dips for their Superbowl parties. Women like chocolatey things sometimes (or all the time). My goal is to be able to make all of those foods and still be healthy! Trust me when I tell you that flavor does not have to be a casualty to health! I also use ingredients that are easy to obtain. I don’t like buying ingredients for one recipe knowing I’ll never use that ingredient again! I am a newlywed on a budget, so I need to be able to make delicious, healthy food using ingredients that can be bought anywhere and used again!
I hope you enjoy this food blog!
If you have a dish you’d like to be made guiltless, please let me know and I’ll try it out!
As a disclaimer I will say that I am in no way a professional chef. I have a lot to learn (don’t we all) and if you come across this blog and have any advice I am more than willing to listen!
That said, even though I’m an amateur, I make some pretty awesome food :).
