Mexican “Hot” Chocolate Protein Shake

I’ve been wanting to make another protein shake recipe, but all I have is chocolate powder until I can get to the store again. I was thinking of ideas and saw somewhere (I forget where) that someone made Mexican Hot Chocolate Oatmeal, so I thought “Hey, why not make a Mexican Hot Chocolate protein shake?” I searched through a few recipes of actual Mexican Hot Chocolate and decided I’d just take the general ingredients and wing it. It turned out to be amazing! This shake isn’t a milkshake consistency, more like chocolate milk, but it is so delicious and filling! It’s great as a recovery drink or as a meal replacement!

Mexican “Hot” Chocolate Protein Shake

Servings: 1

Amount per serving: 302 calories- 25g carb- 8g fat- 36g protein- 17g sugar

Ingredients:

  • 10 fl oz milk (2%)
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (body fortress = 140 calories per scoop)
  • 2 teaspoons baking cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon splenda
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon almond extract (can be omitted)

Directions:

  1. Put all the ingredients into a blender bottle or a blender and shake (or mix if you use a blender) until all the ingredients are combined well. This takes 30-45 seconds if you’re shaking it.
  2. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
